Summer hair care in Palm Springs is its own discipline. One of the highest UV indexes in the country, months over a hundred degrees, dry air and a pool most weekends — all of it works on your color and your cuticle at once. Here's what we do about it.

Sun lifts color and shifts it — blondes go brassy, brunettes pull red. Dry air takes moisture out of the cuticle, and chlorine finishes the job. None of that is a reason to avoid summer; it's a reason to plan for it.
In practice that means a color refresh before the worst of the heat rather than after, a toner every six to eight weeks instead of waiting for brass, and something sealing the cuticle — a keratin treatment or a monthly conditioning add-on.
The advice we give clients in the chair, in the order it matters.
UV rays in the Coachella Valley are intense. A UV-protective leave-in or spray is essential for color-treated hair during summer.
Sulfate-free formulas are gentler on color and help maintain vibrancy longer — especially important when you're washing more often in summer.
Getting your color done before peak heat means it's fresh and sealed when UV exposure is at its highest. Don't wait until it's already faded.
The dry desert air causes frizz year-round, but summer makes it worse. A keratin treatment seals the cuticle and keeps hair smooth for weeks.
Heat and UV strip moisture from hair. A monthly conditioning treatment at the salon, or a weekly mask at home, makes a real difference.
Chlorine and salt water both affect color. Wet your hair with clean water before swimming and rinse thoroughly afterward — a leave-in creates a barrier.

Starting prices. Add a conditioning treatment to any service for $30 — in July, it's the best thirty dollars on the menu.

Keratin treatments, partial highlights, and conditioning treatments are our most popular summer services. Many clients also come in for a pre-summer color refresh before the hottest months.
The intense UV index and dry desert air in Palm Springs accelerate color fading and can cause brassiness in lightened hair. Using UV protection products and scheduling regular toning appointments helps maintain vibrancy.
For color-treated hair, we recommend a toning or gloss appointment every 6–8 weeks during summer to keep color fresh. A conditioning treatment can be added to any appointment.
Yes. A deep conditioning treatment is available as a $30 add-on to any service. We recommend it especially for color-treated or heat-styled hair during summer.
